The body is back in business!

After having abused our bodies over the past 6 or so years of our ‘adult’, working lives, with binge eating, sedentary lifestyles, stress, laziness and other urban maladies, we have finally decided to take stock of the situation, follow a healthy lifestyle and get back in shape — both physically and mentally. And our plan of quitting our jobs to explore the world and see what’s out there also includes a big journey inwards — one that will let us discover more of ourselves. And getting fit is a huge part of this process. We want to leave behind these unshapely bodies that bear the scars of chaotic and stressful city life, shed this contaminated skin and embark on, what we hope to be, a simple, healthy and enriching journey together. So, here’s to a healthy start!

And enjoying the benefits of our decision to get disciplined was dear Sandy kutty, who ran like the wind today after a long time. With no one else to walk him while I was at work for the two months when my folks were away, Sandy was cooped up indoors most of the time, barring the few mandatory (read potty) walks I begrudgingly took him for, after a long day at work. So, now two months later, after I quit my job, this happy camper got to run, play around and basically, mark territory everywhere possible until his bladder gave up and he could pant no more at the end of this hour-long walk! We came back only to watch him gulp down a whole litre of water and happily fall asleep within minutes, possibly dreaming of chasing cats in some open fields. His body is back in business too!
